What I learned: It is fun and time consuming making audiobooks To upload to Amazon they have very exact recording and volume specifications that you need to do when you are initially recording the audio and producing the audiobook music and dialogue voice recordings There are two kinds of Microphones: Dynamic: Good for loud sounds gets a lot of signal and cablewire noise if recording low volumes like talking or quiet room sounds. Condenser: Good for loud sounds like guitars through a guitar amplifier or speaker but you might damage the microphone. Good for recording vocals and quiet sounds without having a lot of signal and cablewire noise. The dynamic microphone sounded amazing when I recorded with it but then there was a lot of signal noise when I gained up the volume because it was such a quiet recording even though it sounded great tone and frequency wise. I can use a preamp and microphone exciter if I want to record quiet sounds with a dynamic mic and have less cablewire noise but these are expensive and possibly extra. Next time I might try using one with the dynamic microphone. Dynamic Microphone does not require Phantom Power. Condenser Microphone requires Phantom Power Phantom power is not the same as a Microphone Preamp When I recorded the entire chapter and then went back and added the lines for 1 specific character it helped the audio flow better and was way easier and faster to record this way. Give me clear starting and things I could edit to make the chapter sound better and dialogue flow better. |
